2nd Step: Refractive Exam

Our refractive exam is designed to give our surgeon all the measurements needed to customize your laser vision procedure.  We use state-of-the-art technology to personalize your procedure to achieve your personal best vision.  Our doctors philosophy is that preoperative testing is of the paramount importance in the selection of the refractive procedure.

We are able to see your eye's fingerprint.  Waveprint, Wavescan, Custom vue...They are all part of the newest technology available for laser vision correction, the WavePrint system.

The WavePrint system allows us to personalize your laser vision correction. Your vision is unique.  It is as personal as your fingerprints or DNA.

The VISX Star S4 IR Laser incorporates customized wavefront-guided treatments. TheWavePrint system is exclusive to the VISX brand. Essentially, the system allows the surgeon to take a fingerprint of your cornea to map out any abnormal contours that are unique to your eye and cater for them during your procedure.

Custom Vue is the use of the computerized details, put on disk and transferred to the laser computer for your personalized laser vision correction procedure. This information is used in conjunction with the laser vision correction such as LASIK or PRK.

We will be measuring your pupils and doing some other tests that require us to dilate your eyes at the refractive exam.  Depending on your comfortability, you may need a driver the day of your exam.  You will receive prescriptions at your refractive exam to be filled by the day of your procedure.
