What differentiates SUPRALASE^™ from PRK or other flap procedures like LASIK or INTRALASE?  

SUPRALASE was awarded and holds a United States Federal Patent as a unique method of laser vision correction.  It is the only patented all laser, no corneal flap vision correction procedure available.

·        SUPRALASE eliminated the need for the following: mechanical brush, suction rings, microkeratome, and dissecting instruments:  PRK uses a mechanical brush to remove the epithelium (the layer that needs to be removed to be able to correct the shape of the cornea). LASIK uses a microkeratome, suction rings, and dissection instruments to create and lift the flap.  INTRALASE uses a laser to initiate flap creation but still requires surgical dissection for flap elevation.  SUPRALASE uses a laser to complete this process and there is no corneal flap created.
