The Supralase Difference

What differentiates SUPRALASE from PRK or other flap procedures like LASIK or INTRALASE?

SUPRALASE was awarded and holds a United States Federal Patent as a unique method of laser vision correction.  It is the only patented all laser, no corneal flap vision correction procedure available.

·        SUPRALASE eliminated the need for the following: mechanical brush, suction rings, microkeratome, and dissecting instruments PRK uses a mechanical brush to remove the epithelium (the layer that needs to be removed to be able to correct the shape of the cornea). LASIK uses a microkeratome, suction rings, and dissection instruments to create and lift the flap.  INTRALASE uses a laser to initiate flap creation but still requires surgical dissection for flap elevation.  SUPRALASE uses a laser to complete this process and there is no corneal flap created.

·        The unique SUPRALASE formula allows an all laser customization of your treatment:  With the measurements received in the preliminary tests for your procedure Dr. Rampona calculates using the SUPRALASE formula and enters the data into the laser to ensure you reach your best personal vision.  This formula customizes your treatment in order to reduce the need for an enhancement.
